Thrapston Bowls Club is ideal for both the competitive bowler and people who would just like to engage in a leisurely hobby out in the fresh air. The club is situated in Market Road, Thrapston with its own Car Park. We celebrated our centenary year in 2008 during which we had the honour of hosting a game against a Bowls England representative side.

Over the years our bowlers have won every senior County title available and therefore have had many representatives at the National Championships at Worthing.

On the social side we have our own Bar and organise various events throughout the year but primarily during the outdoor season which runs from May – September. The facilities are available for hire to both members and non-members.

We welcome new members of any age and will provide advice on equipment as well as coaching if required. However, you do not need any equipment to give bowls a try other than a set of training shoes. We will provide bowls and someone to help you along if you want to give it a try. So if you are interested please click on the Contacts page and give one of us a ring. We will do all we can to accommodate you.

Picture:

Thrapston's most successful rink during the 90's plying their trade down at Worthing. This rink comprised of Cliff Manning, Trevor Clipston, Colin Tate and Terry James. All of these players represented the County at the highest level. Their greatest achievement was losing semi-finalists at these National championships. Terry James (far left) in later years went on to win the National Champion of Champions at this venue. Terry is clearly the greatest bowler that Thrapston has ever produced and has won the County Singles title on 5 occasions.
